Farheen Hasan is a Research Associate at the Centre for Appearance Research (CAR), working in body-image research. She is currently working in collaboration with Dove Self-Esteem Project and UNICEF India to develop a comic-based body image intervention for adolescents in rural India. Alongside her work at CAR, Farheen is conducting research with Muslim communities to further understand the relationship between religion, fasting and community and body image concerns and currently looking at the impact of fasting on body image amongst Muslim men. Farheen is a strong advocate for looking at under-represented communities in research, and for raising awareness about mental health support for these groups.
