Paula Cummins has a wealth of experience and expertise as a clinical midwife and is currently a senior lecturer in higher education.
She is a department lead for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, with a particular interest in anti-racist teaching practice. As a Black midwife and early career researcher, Paula is keen to ultimately influence critical midwifery studies, specifically, the issue of racial inequality and de-centering whiteness in midwifery curricula.
Paula strives to advance cultural congruence through the curation of spaces that authentically meet socio-cultural and socio-emotional needs of staff and students.
Her extensive background and dedication to fostering inclusive practices makes her a valuable contributor to the Mokita team, aligning with our ongoing pursuit of excellence and positive impact.
